We give the Chicago Tribune hell for hiring idiotic, grinning skull Dan Pompei, official Ron Turner apologist, but then we should give them credit for this excellent headline of “Spare Us the Rod”.
The Bears had a chance to do things right, to hire a great offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator to jump start the franchise, but instead they did what we expected (feared) – they brought in a bunch of Lovie’s cronies, the only guys willing to take this job. I find it hilarious that both Mike Martz AND Rod Marinelli publicly claimed to NOT want the job, but eventually were talked into it by Lovie, I guess. The whole stupid runaround of actually trying to interview competent replacements who might not slavishly follow Lovie’s non-plan is over, another embarrassment for the franchise.
Like the famous “Four Horsemen” of the apocalypse, here at the Bears we have Jerry, Lovie, Mike and Rod. They all need to go. It is true that Ron Turner was worse than any of them, a coach without even a past history of success (in fact, a career of failure), but that doesn’t mean that they are good enough.
Now you can get here by way of the old fireronturner.net and also firemikemartz.com. The first thing Mr. Martz should have done before he seriously considered joining Lovie’s crew of doomed disciples is bought his name with “fire” in front of it, but hey now it comes here instead.
We also will welcome the soon-to-be-frustrated Stanford Cardinal fans. Sorry about your new offensive coordinator.

haha nice changes.
Also, ANY coach who is in any position from pros all the way down to division two should ALWAYS buy their fire”insert name here” domains on at least .com and .net, and i would consider others like .biz. Way to go buying FMM and redirecting it here. Saves us a lot of work.
Excellent work Carl. I tried to get “Fire Jerry Angelo” about a year ago but was unsuccessful as the site was already bought out.
I hate to beat a dead horse continuously on this site but I am sick of Lovie. He will continue to hire his friends because face it. Not one of them can or will threaten to take his job. That’s why he put Rivera on the curb. One more season of this garbage and then the Bears can MAYBE find a competent coach and staff.
If there is football at all in 2011 – the lack of a cba is a pretty huge elephant in the room that nobody seems to want to talk about. And at this point neither side seems to be moving.
I read recently that the NFL TV contract pays the owners whether or not there is any football actually being played, which obviously makes them more prone to weather a strike. I don’t know who negotiated that contract from the TV side but the guys sound about as smart as the ones who set up the Leno / Conan showdown.
That is true from what I have been reading also. I think they get something on the order of $5bb. And it appears we are heading for a lockout, not a strike, to clarify.
As a lion fan, I laugh at those 4 inept morons. However, I don’t blame you one bit for being pissed off at this $h!t, so I totally get where you are coming from. If I were a Bears fan, I’d hope the “four horse$h1tmen” would be fired too. Keep up the good work on this site!
