Welcome Stanford Cardinal Fans!

hahaha. It seems that Ron Turner will be the offensive coordinator at Stanford. Bear fans who regularly visit this site will recall that Ron was the OC here in Chicago when Jim Harbaugh, now the head coach at Stanford, was QB here in the early nineties.

I would like to take a moment to welcome all of the Cardinal fans who will likely find this site over the next few days. There is a lot of information here to digest. You will need to understand that your offense will be…how should I say it…offensive…in the near future. Too bad, your program was on the way up. Oh yes, THANK YOU for getting Ron far, far away from my beloved teams here in the Midwest.

  1. I will admit this – Ron does the right thing by never trashing his ex-employers and he does keep his circle of friends. In other words, even though he can’t call a game or run an offense to save his ass, he does keep his club membership active.

He doesn’t know football worth shit, but he’s a pretty good networker. Sorry, Stanford. I like you guys, I really do. One of my best friends went there, and your football team really seemed to be getting somewhere with Harbaugh in charge. Enjoy the next 5 years of offensive futility. I’m just happy it isn’t here anymore (though Martz might be almost as bad).

  3. Fro Dog says:

Who wants to bet that Harbaugh leaves to coach a better program in a year or two and all of a sudden puts Turner in charge?

    You heard it here first.

  4. Carl from Chicago says:

It is amazing that in this era of high unemployment and scarce job opportunities Ron finds something right away. Oh well. The Standford guys didn’t do their due diligence unless they checked here first.

We will have to start opening a comment thread for the Standford game.

I need to change the masthead a bit this weekend

I know Toby Gerhart is glad he got the heck outta there before DumbRon arrived. Can you imagine how much his draft stock would have dropped in 2011 wit Dummy calling his plays this year?!?! And Harbaugh is really just helping a friend. He knows that DumbRon couldn’t call 9-1-1 if you spotted him the 9 and the first 1, but that’s his friend. So he decides to give him a job, but he’s smart enough to wait and announce it after everyone has signed! LOL!!! Some of these kids will probably want to tear up those intent letters, but all of the other D-I schools are done, so they wouldn’t have anywhere to go. Smart move Harby. Keep him for one year, let one of the weak West Coast schools fire a head coach or 2 and then rec him for a job. Thumbs up for being a good friend. Thumbs down on your shot to foot of your offense! D up Cardinals…D UP!

Oh by the way guys… The 4 headed MONSTER OF THE MIDWAY is official! Lovie, Rod, Mike, & Mike are running the show (no pun intended…we will run the ball 33% of the plays this year). If nothing else, we should at least have some interesting commentary each week, because win or lose sportswriters will be asking the other 3 just as many questions as Lovie!

  7. Carl from Chicago says:

Hmmm… looking for a name of the revised site and 4 headed monster of the midway is a contender.

The only thing is that we are leaving out terrible Angelo and might as well throw Phillips in there to boot. They all need to go.

And what about Babich? Does he get a free ride for sucking? Or is his demotion official.

Is it a 7 headed hydra (the 4 you mentioned plus Babich, Phillips and Angelo?)

  8. T06 – I thought the same exact thing about Gerhart.

  9. Doshi says:

Meh, Babich is an excellent LB coach and a terrible DC. Let him sulk back in his role, give our young guns in the core some experience, and leave in peace. He had more than enough BS in a single year as DC to last his entire lifetime. Still not a fan, but his LBs are the best unit on the defense right now (THE SECOND STRINGERS), and I gotta give him props for that.

Unless the Bears go absolutely apeshit this year and win something like 11+ games and make the Super Bowl (not gonna happen), I think Lovie and his entire staff are gone, as well as Angelo. Phillips I don’t see leaving for money reasons (though he SHOULD leave). Just gotta put up with 8 more years of stupidity before this team can actually get out of this dump…
